911 Communications Center
As the vital lifeline between our community and emergency services, the Dickinson County Communications Center handles all emergency and non-emergency calls for the county. Our facility is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week by a dedicated team of dispatchers who manage thousands of calls for service every year.
Our dispatchers operate from fully equipped workstations designed to handle high call volumes efficiently. They monitor multiple 911 lines, three administrative lines, three Sheriff's Office lines, and the local Crime Stoppers tip line. To ensure accessibility for all citizens, we also utilize Text-to-911 technology (learn more here).
The Communications Center serves as the central dispatch hub for all law enforcement, fire, and EMS agencies within Dickinson County. This includes the Dickinson County Sheriff's Office, Dickinson County Emergency Management, Lakes Regional Healthcare Paramedics, and the Police and Fire/Rescue departments for Arnolds Park, Lake Park, Milford, Okoboji, Spirit Lake, and Terril.
In addition to dispatching local first responders, our staff actively coordinates with a wide network of partner agencies to keep Dickinson County safe. This includes working alongside the Iowa State Patrol, the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, the Iowa Department of Transportation, the Dickinson County Engineer's Office, local public works departments, and utility companies.
If you have questions about the Communications Center or its staff, please contact Dispatch Supervisor Jarrod Fischer. To learn more about the 911 system, please visit the Dickinson County 911 website.
