Injury accident 7-20-2012

DCSO investigated a single vehicle accident that occured at approximately 10:24AM on 7-20-2012 in the 1500 block of M-56.  Sarah Egan (16) of Spirit Lake Iowa was driving a 1997 Chrysler Sebring northbound on Hwy M-56.  Egan lost control on the curve near 160 st. and slid into the ditch on the north side of the roadway.  The Chrysler rolled and came to rest over a waterway in the ditch.  Egan was transported to Lakes Regional Healthcare by Ambulance with non-incapacitating injuries.  Spirit Lake Fire Department was on scene as a precaution because the Chrysler was leaking fuel.  $3000 in damage was estimated to the Chrysler.
