On April 11, 2014 at around 11:15pm, deputies responded to a call about a bonfire at the Horseshoe Bend Campground. The four individuals there did not pay for a campsite and were there afterhours. The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office K-9, Sasha, was used to walk around the vehicles to check for illegal narcotics. One of the deputies located drug paraphernalia that had been tossed. One of the juveniles admitted that it was theirs.
The juvenile was brought back to their guardians’ residence. A subsequent consent search was performed in 1100 block of Okoboji Avenue in Milford. Several pieces of drug paraphernalia and some marijuana were located in the juveniles’ rooms.
The juveniles were cited and released to their guardians.
All persons are innocent until proven guilty.
