DNA assists in Criminal mischief investigation
DCSO took several reports of vandalism that occurred the early morning hours of April 17 in Terril IA. Also, a report was taken of an intoxicated male reporting himself to be a Dickinson County Sheriff's Deputy. At one of the vandalism scenes, the person causing the damage injured themselves and left behind blood evidence. The blood was collected and sent to the state crime lab along with a swab from a suspect. The blood was found to belong to Joshua D. Link (21) of Terril IA. Link was booked into the Dickinson County Jail on three counts of Criminal Mischief in the fourth degree, a serious misdemeanor, and Impersonating a Public Official, an Aggravated Misdemeanor.
DCSO was assisted in the investigation by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation - Criminalistics Laboratory
All persons are innocent until proven guilty
