Two arrested in stabbing / drug charges
DCSO received a 911 call of a stabbing in the 25000 block of Teresa Ave in East Okoboji Beach, Spirit Lake IA. Deputies responded taking Mark Scheerhoorn (53) of Spirit lake into custody. Mark Scheerhoorn and his brother, Scot Scheerhoorn (51) of Spirit Lake were involved in a fight. Mark Stabbed Scot in the hand and about the head. Mark Scheerhoorn was arrested and booked into the Dickinson County Jail.
Inside the residence, marijuana was discovered by Deputies. A search warrant was obtained and executed at the residence. Upon further search, a marijuana grow operation was discovered. Deputies seized 65 marijuana plants in various growth stages, equipment used in the manufacture of marijuana, and marijuana product and paraphernalia.
Scot was transported by Ambulance to the Lakes Regional Healthcare where he was treated and released. Scot Scheerhoorn was arrested and booked into the Dickinson County Jail.
Scot Scheerhoorn is charged with: Assault while participating in a felony Possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver (marijuana) Manufacturing a controlled substance (marijuana) Failure to affix drug tax stamp
Mark Scheerhoorn is charged with: Willful injury Interference with official acts Possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver (marijuana) Manufacturing a controlled substance (marijuana) Failure to affix drug tax stamp
