Help Wanted: Full Time Dispatcher

The Dickinson County Sheriff's Office is seeking a full-time dispatcher. Applicants must be available to work nights, weekends and holidays. For questions, call 712-336-2525 and ask for Jarrod Fischer.

DCSO investigated a two vehicle motor vehicle accident that occurred at approximately 6:59PM in the 1800 block of 310 Ave (N-14).

 

 

A 2005 Ford Focus was driven southbound by Marie Petersen (71) of Spencer Iowa when she lost control of the vehicle on icy roads.  The Focus crossed the center line and collided with a northbound 2009 Peterbilt Semi tractor/trailer driven by Kevin Graven (55) of Rippey Iowa.

 

Marie Petersen and her passenger Duane Petersen (72) were killed in the accident.  Graven was uninjured.  Damage was estimated at $6900 to the Ford and $3500 to the Peterbilt.  The accident remains under investigation.
